Adventure Squad – Taunton
Channel Adventure CIC is a not for profit company that wants to help more people have more adventures more often. But why do we want to do this? There is no question that hill walking, canoeing, climbing etc. are fun and exciting. The physical, mental and sociological benefits are well documented and fairly unsurprising – we go outside, do something fun, and we feel better as a result. Typically, though, for most people adventure is something that happens once a year on a holiday to the beach, a day out at school, or a really long drive to the mountains…and for some people adventure doesn’t feature in their lives at all! This is what we want to change. We want to provide adventurous activities for our local community, regularly and crucially on their doorstep!
This club will be supported by volunteers, the more volunteers we have the broader the offer we can make. So if you’re a parent reading this and would like to get involved then do come and have a chat with us, we’d love to hear from you.

Activities
Activities can include Stand Up Paddleboarding, Mega Stand Up Paddleboarding, Kayaking, Raft Building, Bushcraft, Orienteering, Tree Climbing, River Journeys, KataKanoeing, Ultimate Frisbee, Team Challenges, Nature spotting, Nerf Games, Canoeing as well as learning about protecting and enhancing the environment and actively helping to make it better, with thing such as river litter picks and planting trees.
What do they need to bring?
Arrive in something that you don’t mind them getting bit dirty and some sturdy shoes. Pack a rucksack with swimwear, wetsuit if you have one or some clothes you don’t mind getting wet (leggings / shorts and t-shirt are perfect), towel and old trainers so they’re ready to jump in the water. For the Holiday Club you’ll also want to bring a hearty packed lunch and a refillable drinks bottle to keep them going through an action packed day.
